Q&;A with Lynne Jameson-Meehan – Avid Runner and Patient

We’d like to introduce you to Lynne Jameson-Meehan who is a member of the Melrose Running Club as well as the Melrose YMCA. As an avid runner, she has also been a patient at Fitzgerald PT throughout the years. A Melrose resident since 1987, she lives with her husband Rich and English Mastiff, Cagney. They raised two sons here who are now married with families of their own.  She has 4 grandchildren and will have another granddaughter in July. In her spare time in addition to running, she enjoys Zumba and weight classes at the Y. Learn more about her experience with running and PT:

Q: When did you discover your love for running?

A: I had been running off and on for several years. Running with a friend or alone. My love for running happened  when I joined the Melrose Running Club. To run with a great group of people who share their passion for running is an inspiration.

Q: As a runner, what types of injuries have you sustained over the years?

A: My partial knee replacement was the biggest injury. Up until 2 years ago I have been lucky there have not been many. I would get a  tight hip flexor pain  every now and again mostly from lack of stretching.

Q: When did you first come visit us at Fitzgerald PT, and how did you hear about us?

A: I came to Fitzgerald 3 years ago. I heard about them through the Melrose Run Club (MRC).

Q: What was your experience like at Fitzgerald PT? What did you enjoy the most?

A: It was a great experience from beginning to end. Every-one from front desk staff to physical therapists were accommodating and pleasant to deal with. They took my fear away that I may never run again and worked me through it every step of the way.

Q: What would you say to someone that is hesitant to try PT or claims that “it doesn’t work”?

A: They have not been to Fitzgerald PT!

Q: What is on your race calendar thus far for 2025?

A: A few for spring and fall . The summer is too hot for me to do a race.

Q: Anything else you’d like to share?

A: I don’t know if I would’ve gotten over my fear of getting back to running if it were not for Fitzgerald PT.  They took the time to map out a plan for me as a runner. The antigravity treadmill was the break through.

Thank you, Lynne, for sharing your story and your kind words! We’ll be cheering you on at the Melrose Run for Women on May 11th — go get ’em!
