Have you suffered an injury that has kept you out of the game for while? Or are you a parent of a student athlete that wants to ensure your child is at low risk for getting injured? If you answered yes to any of these questions, the FPT Athletic Preparedness Evaluation is for you!
The Athletic Preparedness Evaluation is a one-on-one assessment used to determine an individual’s ability to return to sport after injury, in addition to, screen for imbalances or discrepancies that could lead to injury in the future. The examination is comprised of 10 components such as the Functional Movement Assessment™, the Y Balance Test™ and several dynamic stability tests comparing strength and power between limbs.
The goal is to identify regions of impairment such as hip weakness or ankle stiffness that may benefit from corrective measures to facilitate a smooth transition to sport performance and reduce the risk of injury long-term.
The information gathered in the evaluation can be compared to age-matched norms for reference in addition to setting a benchmark for an athlete’s progression over time. Any discrepancies found can be objectified and the baselines retested to demonstrate improvements in the ability to produce power, endurance and stability as they improve with training.
Cost: $150 includes the 1-hour evaluation and initial report. Follow-up visits for corrective exercise, manual therapies or other interventions are a cash rate of $85 unless you are a current PT patient which may be covered by insurance.
