Althea is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario, Canada where she received a Bachelor of Health Sciences. She subsequently received a Master’s in Physical Therapy from D’Youville College and her Doctor of Physical Therapy with Honours from Boston University.

Althea’s significant clinical experience, much of it in Massachusetts includes outpatient orthopedics, homecare, acute care and women’s health. Althea also has valuable experience of working with the terminally ill and patients with chronic health conditions.

Althea combines manual therapy with corrective and functional exercises in order to optimize movement and decrease pain. She is especially mindful that there is an emotional aspect of physical injuries and discomfort, and she seeks to empower her patients so they can confidently return to their active lifestyles.

It is women’s health that Althea has a special clinical interest and expertise in having trained with the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute. Her commitment is to provide women with the care they need and deserve to reconnect with their body and their strength to live their best life.

Althea strongly believes in her non-surgical approach to pelvic floor problems that can contribute so adversely to stress incontinence, urge incontinence and pelvic pain as well as affecting women’s sexual health.

Althea is able to carefully evaluate her patient’s needs and tailor her multi-factorial approach accordingly. Althea deploys a range of behavioral strategies, manual therapies, modalities, therapeutic exercises, education and functional re-training with the sole aim of improving her patient’s quality of life.
